Traveling with minor child

Did anyone have any issues with driving into Mexico with a minor child? What am I supposed to bring with to get him in and out? I heard I just need a driver's license for myself. Thanks

Birth certificate showing YOU as the mother. My friend has a child who is half hispanic and she would go down to Mexico City to see the family and would have to take the birth cert to get her daughter (which looks VERY hispanic) back across the border.

Ok, thanks. Did she need a notarized "permission slip" from the child's father? I just read something about that.

Hi, Deborah.  We all had passports and had absolutely no problems.  If you don't have these, it seems like birth certificates would be the way to go.  Good luck! Traci
